Mr and Mrs Dowding live in a three bed semi-detached house, built in the late 1970s. Although the family home used oil-fired central heating, they though this was their only option due to the lack of gas connections in their village. Their oil-fired system offered inadequate heat and efficiency which led the couple to consider storage heating and other alternative electric heating choices.
The couple found oil-fired central heating came with many issues. It’s costly to buy oil in bulk, and the uncertainty of its delivery times made them apprehensive. The benefits were immediately noticeable as the radiators reduced running costs because all radiators were set to an ambient temperature and simply turned up when extra heat was needed. Direct acting electric heating means that there are no pipes to heat as with oil central heating. There was no need to budget for costly oil delivery and no risk of running out. With precise digital control and good looking radiators, the improvement to the Dowding’s family home was outstanding.
